The finest Colombian emeralds.

A vivid Muzo emerald, radiant cut

A single,
unrepeatable green.

Five centuries of mining have never produced two alike. This is the colour the trade knows as Colombian, warm, near-luminous, unmistakable. We deal in it alone.

A single source

Three great mines. One green. No compromise.

From the mines of Muzo, Chivor and Coscuez in Boyacá, Colombia, the origin against which every emerald on earth is measured. We do not blend origins and we do not dilute the green to reach a price.

The tradition

Emeralds in jewellery.

For as long as there have been crowns, there have been emeralds set into them, the green of rank, renewal and quiet power.

An emerald and diamond suite

Emeralds have been treasured across nearly every civilisation that prized colour, from the ancient mines worked for the pharaohs, through the Mughal courts who inscribed them, to the crowns of Europe and the vaults of the great modern houses. For thousands of years the deep green has signified status, love and continuity, worn by those able to command the rarest thing the earth offers.

After decades in the shadow of the colourless diamond, the emerald is once again at the centre of things, on the red carpet, in the engagement ring and heading the season’s high-jewellery collections. Designers are reaching for colour and no colour carries the authority of a fine Colombian green.

Its pull has never been only visual. The emerald has long been associated with the heart, with renewal, devotion and clarity of thought and is still chosen as much for what it signifies as for how it looks, a meaning that reaches back to antiquity.

And increasingly, the finest emeralds are regarded the way collectors have always regarded exceptional coloured stones: as a portable store of value. Top-colour, single-origin Colombian material is genuinely scarce and that scarcity has drawn a new kind of buyer, one who sees a place for a great stone alongside the more familiar assets of a serious portfolio.

Beyond adornment

A store of colour, and of worth.

Why the emerald has been treasured, worn and held for five thousand years, and why it is drawing a new kind of buyer today.

Rarity & value

Fine single-origin Colombian emerald is among the scarcest of the great coloured stones, and true top colour is rarer still.

A record of worth

At the very top of the market, exceptional emeralds have long held their value and passed between serious collections for generations.

Constant demand

Appetite for the finest emerald continues to outpace a genuinely limited supply.

The celebrated stone

From crown jewels to the modern red carpet, the emerald has never left the world's most watched settings.

At the source

Chosen before they are cut.

The stones we offer begin as rough, at the mines of Muzo, Chivor and Coscuez. We acquire emerald in parcels at source and every parcel is assessed by our own gemmologist and cut by our lapidary, so the journey from crystal to finished stone happens under a single, accountable eye.

For collectors, this opens a rarer proposition than buying finished stones alone: to acquire a vetted rough parcel and have it cut to order. It is the closest most buyers will come to the mine itself.
